Jahvid Best: speed

One of our committed recruits coming in the fall, RB Jahvid Best, is currently blowing away the competition in track and field.

In the Sacramento Meet of Champions this past weekend, Best posted a 10.36 in the 100m and 21.16 in the 200m and won both events. Neither was wind-aided, and these times are the fastest in the state of California this season.

This guy is fast. Look for him to have the potential to make an impact as a freshman.

6 Bears sign as free agents

Several of our graduating seniors have signed as undrafted free agents with NFL teams.

  • CB/PR Tim Mixon and DE Nu’u Tafisi have signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
  • OG Erik Robertson has signed with the San Diego Chargers.

EDIT: Cal has released a list of all Bear free-agent signings, including:

  • RB Marcus O’Keith (Kansas City Chiefs)
  • LB Mickey Pimental (Carolina Panthers)
  • FB Byron Storer (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
