If the best defense is offense how can we get our defensive players to become a little more offensive? Perhaps it would be a good idea to feed them some limburger cheese and train them how to breath on our opponents with heavy breaths and/or stick out their tongues and wiggle them as do the Maori when confronting the enemy. (If it works for them-why not?). Or , maybe just feed our guys all the broccoli, beans, califlower and brussel sprouts and let nature take its course.

Tedford sometimes allows us to have the opportunity to see some "razzle/dazzle" plays which, even if they don't work, make the game much more interesting to watch. Reverses, end arounds, lateral/pass plays, flea flickers and maybe even a naked reverse (if he could teach Longshore to move his body) make the game much more interesting-especially when the spectators have difficulty figuring out where the ball is. I remember this was the way it was when we had the T Formations to watch. By the way, what ever happened to the idea of a QUICK KICK on third and long? This is a great play against which there is no defense!

Isn't there some way when Cal is receiving a punt
to stop the players from the punting team from geting to the punt receiver by stoping them at the line of scrimmage instead of havin our players retreat and attempt to throw blocks further down the field? Is there any better play than that which allows a speed burning punt receiver to have a bit of open field in which to show his stuff?

Longshore needs more practice so he'll stop throwing the long shots too high (which he does repeatedly). Maybe its a good idea to keep the ball away from Jackson so he doesn't have a chance to look so good this year. Then he may not be in such demand by the pros and we'd have him for another year. Besides, we've got all the talent we need this year without him.

I've been watching Cal football since well before you were born and I'm hoping to go to onr more ROSE BOWL before I die. I believe there is a great chance of that happening this year IF TEDFORD ALLOWS FOR THE UTILIZATION OF MORE THAN JUST ONE SCREEN PASS PER GAME! (So far every time a screen pass has been called there has been a gain of more than 40 yards.) This appears to be one of the best ways to capitaize on the breakaway speed of this year's runners. Please, if you can, whisper in his ear for me.

Shouldn't Jahvid be getting more touches? Every time he does, something great usually happens. Well, except for that little slip towards the end...
