As a former Stanford Athletic Dept Employee, I will have to say that while it is exciting to see the football players playing with an energy they did not have while under Coach Harris, the Cardinal team is not good enough yet to beat most PAC-10 teams, especially CAL. Like USC, most pac-10 teams can LOSE to Stanford if they play poorly, but there is nothing in any other game this year to suggest that the Stanford team can match the level of the better teams in the PAC-10 (see UCLA, Oregon, and ASU results). CAL will have the Axe again after this year.

I loved seeing you guys lose this game. GOOOO STANFORD. Tedford should have just kicked the field goal and played in OT.
Oregon St. took it to you in your house. They dominated you the entire second half in every aspect. You were lucky to have even gotten as close to tieing or winning as you did. That big touchdown nearly saved you. That punk backup you have didn't lose the game. Your running backs, O-Line defense and special teams lost it for you. They could not score from a couple yards out in four straight attempts. They could stop turning the ball over and it really all boils down to this you Cal Teddy Bears Fans:

YOU WERE OVER-RATED AS IT WAS. That loss was not talked about much by the gameday crew because it was not that big of a shock. Everyone but you ignorant jerks could see your team is shoddy. You will lose to USC and you might even lose over in PA against the Cardinal. We beat USC and we can definitely beat your team, which should not even be in the top 15.

Turnovers and defense were the main problems. If Cal defense can't hold an unranked school (except for L Tech) to less than 20 points ever, then there's too little margin to go undefeated and truly be #1. That puts extra pressure on Tedford to call all the right plays on offense since they have no cushion.

Still luv them bears. Go bears!

Aggressive Oregon St. pass rush should be an oxymoron, no? I mean it was for all the other teams they faced this year. If anyone should have felt the heat it was Canefield, not Riley! The world is all f*cked up these days, nothing is as it seems… )-;

To those of you who were wondering about why Longshore was out of the game when he appeared to be walking around fine on the sidelines, Tedford chose to sit Nate as he felt with his high ankle sprain, he was not mobile enough for the aggressive Oregon State pass rush. Considering how many times Riley was pressured, hit, sacked, etc, and how close he came to giving up a safety on that last drive, I'd also have to agree.

After the game I wanted to curl up and die. Since yesterday Riley's been badmouthed something awful but you can hardly pin the entire game on his one big mistake at the end. He did make it all the way down the field for us.

The game never should have been close. We played sloppily on both sides of the ball the entire game and to its credit, Oregon State played with a lot of heart.

We blew it as a team. It seems that Cal has trouble breathing in the highest atmosphere. But I have faith in Tedford and the team and think that we will recover from this.

I just want to add that watching games on versus is frustrating because they usually don't show what down it is. And Lavelle Hawkins is the man =)

Mark my words, if Gregory stays at the helm of the D this team is doomed to fail. He brings immeasurable new meaning to the words inept, incompetent and inexcusable. If you consider yourself a Bear fan, and you care about the future of this team, you would be wise to feel the same way. This guy has to go, PERIOD.

SORRY GREGSTER, YOU'RE FIRED!!!
